Role: VMWare Engineer

Location: Irving, TX - Onsite

Pay Rate: $50-55/hour on W2, client will not consider C2C

We are seeking an experienced Contractor VMware Engineer to support the design, implementation, administration, and optimization of our VMware-based virtualization environment. This role will focus on maintaining stable, secure, and high-performing infrastructure while supporting ongoing projects, upgrades, and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities
\n

- Design, deploy, and administer VMware environments including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related components
- Perform day-to-day operational support, monitoring, and troubleshooting of virtual infrastructure
- Execute upgrades, patches, and migrations for VMware platforms and associated tools
- Support capacity planning, performance tuning, and availability improvements
- Configure and maintain HA, DRS, vMotion, and fault tolerance features
- Collaborate with storage, network, security, and server teams to ensure integrated solutions
- Support backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., VMware SRM, Veeam, Commvault, or similar)
- Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and documentation
- Provide technical input for infrastructure projects and architecture decisions
- Create and maintain operational documentation and runbooks

Years of Experience

- 5+ years of hands-on experience administering VMware virtualization environments
\n
\n
\n
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
\n
\n
- \n
- Strong experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter
- Solid understanding of Windows and Linux server environments
- Working knowledge of enterprise storage (SAN/NAS) and networking concepts (VLANs, NIC teaming, DNS, TCP/IP)
- Experience supporting production environments with high availability requirements
- Ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues under time constraints
