The porter is responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of the facility, both indoors and outdoors. This role focuses on maintaining clean office areas, production spaces, restrooms, and exterior grounds, ensuring a safe, orderly, and well-maintained environment for all employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning and upkeep of the facility, including indoor and outdoor areas.
- Clean office spaces by removing trash, wiping down surfaces, cleaning windows, and maintaining overall tidiness.
- Remove trash from designated areas and ensure proper disposal of waste and materials.
- Replenish bathroom supplies such as paper products, soap, and other necessary items to maintain fully stocked restrooms.
- Clean restrooms thoroughly, including toilets, sinks, floors, and fixtures, using appropriate cleaning products.
- Maintain outdoor areas by cleaning up debris, removing materials, and keeping walkways and entrances clear.
- Perform snow removal and salting of walkways as needed to ensure safe access during inclement weather.
- Sweep and vacuum floors in office, production, and common areas to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Handle basic material movement and light labor tasks associated with cleaning and upkeep.
- Use appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment safely and effectively in all assigned areas.
- Complete additional custodial and janitorial duties as assigned to support facility operations.
Essential Skills
- Demonstrated custodial or janitorial experience in facility cleaning and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with general cleaning tasks, including indoor and outdoor areas.
- Ability to perform trash removal and proper waste handling in office, production, and common areas.
- Experience cleaning windows, office areas, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces.
- Comfort with labor work, including sweeping, vacuuming, material handling, and general clean-up.
- Ability to perform snow removal and salting of walkways during winter conditions.
- Familiarity with using cleaning supplies and cleaning products safely and effectively.
- Experience with custodial maintenance and routine janitorial duties.
- Reliability and willingness to perform a variety of cleaning tasks and follow assigned schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in a porter, custodian, or janitorial role.
- Experience working in production, office, and restroom environments.
- Ability to manage multiple cleaning tasks and prioritize work throughout the day.
- Comfort working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and organization across different areas of the facility.

Work Environment
This role is based in a production facility that includes office areas, production floors, and restrooms, with work performed both indoors and outdoors. The porter must be comfortable working in various elements and conditions, including exposure to outdoor weather during tasks such as snow removal and grounds upkeep. The schedule is Monday through Friday on first shift, with shift times that may vary, so flexibility with variable start and end times is important. The environment involves regular use of cleaning supplies, equipment, and products in office, production, and bathroom areas, with a focus on maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly workplace.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
