Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Program Coordinator to ensure the accuracy and integrity of student records and adherence to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

The Senior Program Coordinator will support multiple functions within the Office of the University Registrar, including enrollment, registration, graduation, student records, academic scheduling, and reporting. The position will cross-train across related organizational areas to provide coverage during peak periods.

The role requires a high degree of independence, sound judgment, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to establish priorities while working with colleagues and university stakeholders.


Essential Functions

  • Update academic records in the student information system based on appropriate authorization and supporting documentation.
  • Maintain student records, including:
    • Student demographics
    • Academic programs
    • Course adds and drops
    • Leaves of absence and withdrawals
    • Grades
  • Process email communications and workflow/ticket requests for areas within the Office of the University Registrar.
  • Read, interpret, understand, and apply university, office, state, and federal policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Research and resolve complex student and university issues while ensuring compliance.
  • Process transcript requests and respond to transcript-related inquiries.
  • Research, audit, and maintain historical records for transcript production and student-record maintenance.
  • Process and update applications for degree conferral and degree awards for graduating students.
  • Review student records to evaluate degree/program completion requirements.
  • Communicate with:
    • Students
    • Advisors
    • Department chairs
    • Deans
    • Directors
    • University staff
  • Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve issues raised by students and university staff.
  • Maintain confidential academic files in accordance with FERPA and Boston University procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Office of the University Registrar.
