MEMCO Houston is looking for a reliable and proactive Maintenance Helper to support our customer's maintenance team in ensuring that their manufacturing equipment and facilities are safe, operational, and maintained to the highest standards. The Maintenance Helper will assist in routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and overall upkeep of our manufacturing equipment and workspaces. This entry-level role is ideal for someone with a basic understanding of maintenance tasks who is eager to learn and grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities:
• Assist maintenance team with scheduled inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery, tools, and equipment.
• Support minor repairs on production equipment, including but not limited to motors, belts, fans, and conveyor systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and assist in cleaning workspaces, tools, and machinery after repairs.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Transport materials and tools to and from job sites within the facility.
• Monitor and report any potential safety or operational issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Work collaboratively with other departments to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:
• Previous experience in a maintenance or similar role in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools and ability to follow instructions for repairs and tasks.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
Skills & Abilities:
• Strong communication skills and a cooperative attitude.
• Basic mechanical skills and a desire to expand skills and knowledge in equipment maintenance.
• Ability to follow instructions and maintain productivity under minimal supervision.
Working Conditions:
• This role may require standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
• Work is primarily indoors, but may occasionally include outdoor tasks or work in various weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work occasional overtime or on weekends as needed
