Overview
We are seeking an experienced Axle Systems Project Lead to support prototype build and testing activities for axle systems within a leading automotive engineering environment. This role will be responsible for coordinating prototype builds, managing testing activities, tracking project milestones, and collaborating with engineering teams, suppliers, and testing personnel to ensure successful program execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate all prototype build activities for axle systems.
- Develop and maintain project plans, build timing schedules, and component readiness tracking.
- Manage procurement and ordering of prototype parts through internal systems.
- Work closely with Design & Release Engineers, suppliers, and shop personnel to ensure timely build completion.
- Track open issues, assign ownership, and drive resolution to closure.
- Maintain short-term and long-term testing forecasts for axle system programs.
- Coordinate test part deliveries and support testing prioritization activities.
- Monitor test status and ensure completion according to program timelines.
- Organize post-test teardown reviews and obtain engineering signoffs.
- Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders and leadership.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to build and testing processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Proven Project Management experience within automotive or manufacturing environments.
- Experience working with mechanical components, prototype builds, testing activities, and product development processes.
- Strong proficiency in:
