Job Description
MyKelly is seeking a Facilities Technician (Janitorial/Groundskeeping) – Level I for a temp-to-hire opportunity with Cummins in Oshkosh, WI.
This position is responsible for routine building maintenance, janitorial services, groundskeeping, and performing minor repairs on facility equipment and property structures. The Facilities Technician will support daily operations by assisting with various maintenance activities, addressing immediate operational and safety needs, and ensuring that tools, materials, and vehicles are maintained in good working order.
All work is performed under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain safe work habits and adhere to all safety procedures while completing daily tasks.
- Evaluate reactive work for safety concerns and prioritize safety in planning projects.
- Work in varying conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and moisture.
- Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas.
- Perform exterior groundskeeping tasks such as cleaning and repairing pits and sumps, snow blowing and removal, shoveling entryways, clearing sidewalks, emptying trash, and mowing.
- Clean restrooms and perform minor plumbing repairs in restrooms.
- Maintain dock drains.
- Repair floors and clean up spills on carpet and floor tile.
- Install ceilings and light fixtures.
- Complete wall repairs, including drywall installation, patching, wall hanging, and painting.
- Operate and maintain facility vehicles and equipment, including forklifts and golf carts.
- Use powered hand tools such as drills, grinders, porta-band saws, sweepers, and other equipment as required.
- Perform additional maintenance and janitorial duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma, certificate of completion, or equivalent experience preferred but not required.
- Minimal or no prior work experience required.
- Ability to work safely in both indoor and outdoor environments.
- Ability to perform janitorial, groundskeeping, and basic maintenance tasks.
- Ability to use powered hand tools and operate equipment as trained.
- Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment, including metatarsal safety footwear.
- Must successfully complete the required Meet & Greet prior to starting.
