What You'll Do
- Build and extend a core optimization engine using mixed-integer and linear programming, along with its supporting backend systems and infrastructure.
- Explore and implement machine learning and AI approaches that improve scheduling accuracy, speed, and accessibility.
- Work across the stack, with a focus on backend development and some frontend work, to help users interact with optimization tools.
- Own mission-critical systems end to end, including on-call support, troubleshooting, and collaboration with non-technical teams.
- Lead complex technical projects, contribute to delivery decisions, and provide technical guidance to teammates.
What We're Looking For
- Four to ten years of software engineering experience shipping production software and leading complex technical work.
- Experience building a mission-critical algorithm, optimization module, or production machine learning model for a key product area.
- Knowledge of linear optimization or mathematical programming, including experience with solvers or tools such as Gurobi or CP-SAT.
- Strong backend experience with Python, APIs, asynchronous task processing, scalable applications, AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure.
- Full-stack product experience, including a willingness to contribute to frontend work, testing, observability, and monitoring.
- A technical degree and strong communication skills, with experience collaborating with non-technical stakeholders and teams across Europe and India time zones, including early-morning overlap.
