We are seeking a dependable and hardworking Groundskeeper / Pool Maintenance Technician to join our apartment community team. This position is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the property, including landscaping, common areas, and swimming pool facilities. The ideal candidate will take pride in creating a clean, attractive, and welcoming environment for residents and guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of apartment grounds, common areas, sidewalks, parking lots, and amenities.
- Perform routine landscaping duties, including mowing, edging, trimming, weeding, and debris removal.
- Collect and dispose of trash from designated areas throughout the property.
- Clean and maintain breezeways, stairwells, laundry rooms, and other community spaces.
- Inspect property regularly and report maintenance or safety concerns to management.
- Maintain swimming pool areas by cleaning decks, removing debris, and ensuring a safe environment.
- Test pool water chemistry and adjust chemicals as needed to maintain proper balance.
- Clean pool filters, skimmers, pumps, and related equipment.
- Monitor pool equipment for proper operation and report any issues requiring repair.
- Assist maintenance staff with minor repairs and property improvement projects as needed.
- Prepare vacant units and surrounding areas for new resident move-ins.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, apartment maintenance, or pool maintenance experience preferred.
- Knowledge of pool chemicals, testing procedures, and pool equipment is a plus.
- Ability to operate landscaping and maintenance equipment safely.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Reliable transportation and consistent attendance required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
