Location: Novi, MI and surrounding area
Pay: $25.00-$45.00/hr, based on experience and certifications
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM-6:00 PM
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Peoplelink is seeking an experienced Lead Fire Alarm Technician for a direct-hire opportunity in the Novi, MI area. We are looking for a strong technician with hands-on experience in fire alarm programming, troubleshooting, testing, inspection, service, and repair of commercial fire alarm systems.
Responsibilities

Program and troubleshoot commercial fire alarm systems

Test and inspect fire alarm systems in commercial buildings

Respond to service requests and diagnose system malfunctions

Make programming changes and system adjustments as needed

Repair, adjust, or replace fire alarm equipment

Perform fire alarm testing and inspections according to NFPA and local code standards

Prepare accurate and timely inspection and service reports

Communicate with customers regarding completed work and necessary repairs

Participate in scheduled on-call rotation
Requirements
-
Minimum 2 years of hands-on fire alarm experience

Fire alarm programming and troubleshooting experience
-
Functional knowledge of Simplex, Notifier, and Fire-Lite systems
-
Advanced diagnostics and system repair knowledge preferred
-
NICET certification preferred, but not required
-
Special hazard suppression system experience, including FM200 and Halon, is a plus

Valid driver's license with 3 or fewer points
-
Minimum 3 years of licensed driving experience

Ability to work on 6-12 ft. ladders and lifts
-
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.

Comfortable working overhead and in small or unusual spaces, including attics and crawl spaces

Strong customer service and communication skills

Strong documentation and organizational skills

Must be available for scheduled on-call rotation
Compensation & Benefits

$25.00-$45.00/hr, based on experience and certifications

Potential quarterly bonuses
-
Time-and-a-half for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 5:00 AM
-
4-hour minimum at time-and-a-half for emergency service calls
-
4-hour minimum at double time for emergency service calls on recognized holidays, plus 8 hours of holiday pay
