Industrial Maintenance Technician

Job Description

This role focuses on troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and auxiliary equipment in a high-speed packaging, industrial environment. You will perform both preventative and corrective maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems to ensure maximum equipment uptime, efficiency, and safety across the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain all production and auxiliary production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure consistent operation.
  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on packaging machinery, including high-speed packaging equipment, to maintain optimal performance.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on production equipment using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Inspect, adjust, and replace components such as motors, motor controls, VFDs, drives, and other electrical and mechanical parts as needed.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to identify faults and implement effective solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and work with 480V electrical systems, industrial control panels, and related components in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Identify root causes of recurring equipment problems and implement long-term corrective actions to improve reliability and uptime.
  • Use PLC troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve control-related issues on production machinery.
  • Collaborate with production and other maintenance team members to prioritize work orders and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and company policies while performing maintenance tasks and operating tools and equipment.
  • Document maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage accurately to support effective planning and continuous improvement.
  • Work independently, make real-time decisions, and take ownership of resolving equipment issues to keep operations running efficiently.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of related experience in an industrial maintenance role.
  • Industrial mechanical or electrical experience, including PLC troubleshooting exposure and work with VFDs and drives.
  • Manufacturing experience, preferably in a high-speed packaging or similar industrial environment.
  • Intermediate electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills for production machinery and support equipment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems on production machinery, including motors, motor controls, and electrical panels.
  • Experience working with industrial electrical systems, including 480V, electrical schematics, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with hydraulics maintenance and repair of hydraulic components.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatics, including troubleshooting and repairing pneumatic systems and components.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documentation to support diagnostics and repairs.
  • Capability to work independently, make decisions in real time, and solve complex equipment problems under time pressure.

Work Environment

You will work in a high-speed packaging, industrial environment where the maintenance team plays a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly. The facility operates day and night shifts, with options for 8-, 10-, or 12-hour schedules based on candidate preference, and a typical day shift schedule of Monday through Friday. The role involves regular interaction with industrial electrical systems, including 480V, VFDs, motors, motor controls, and electrical panels, as well as mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment. You will use tools and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair production machinery while adhering to safety protocols. The culture emphasizes independence, real-time decision-making, and problem-solving, as the maintenance team is essential to plant uptime. Dress code expectations include long pants and a work shirt; steel-toe boots are not specifically required, and no formal uniform is mandated.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Taylor, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
