Position: Fiber Optic Field Lead Technician (Working Lead)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Travel Requirement: Up to 100% Travel (Required)
Project Type: Primarily Rural Fiber Deployment

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Optic Field Lead Technician with 3–5+ years of hands-on field experience to support and lead rural fiber deployment projects.
This is a working lead position. The right candidate will be comfortable maintaining production pace, making sound technical decisions, and helping less experienced technicians grow in confidence and ability.
This role offers long-term growth potential into expanded field leadership based on performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily field operations on rural fiber deployments
- Perform fusion splicing in aerial and underground environments
- Conduct OTDR and power meter testing; interpret results and troubleshoot issues
- Read and follow fiber design maps and construction prints
- Maintain accurate, real-time digital reporting (splice logs, test results, as-builts)
- Support and guide developing technicians in the field
- Maintain accountability for company vehicles, tools, and equipment
- Coordinate with OSP management to maintain production flow
Required Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of hands-on fiber optic splicing experience
- Experience performing OTDR testing and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with rural fiber construction environments
- Ability to maintain production expectations in a travel-based role
- Experience using digital reporting software and mobile field platforms
- Comfortable working from tablets and cloud-based systems
- Valid driver’s license with clean record
- Willingness to travel up to 100%
