NetSuite Functional Lead (ERP Optimization Consultant)

\n

Target Start Date: January 2027

\n

\n

Duration: Approximately 4 to 6 months. An initial 4 to 6 week full-time assessment phase (approx. 160 to 240 hours), followed by part-time (approx. 50%) functional leadership and quality oversight through a phased execution, with completion targeted within 2027.

\n

\n

Overview: Our client, a growing specialty food manufacturer selling across multiple channels, has run on NetSuite for many years. The primary goal of this engagement is to optimize the existing environment, not reimplement it: audit the current state, define what good looks like, clean up and redesign the item master, chart of accounts and master data, and standardize end-to-end business processes, positioning the company to scale for the next three to five years while preserving historical data and reporting.

\n

You will act as the key functional liaison between the CFO, the CTO and the technical resources delivering the work, and as the person who understands how a change in one area affects the rest of the business.

\n

\n

Responsibilities

\n

• Execute Phase 1 Assessment (First 4 to 6 Weeks / ~160 to 240 Hours): Review the current NetSuite configuration, business processes, chart of accounts and segment structure, item master (including items set up for marketplaces such as Amazon), assembly builds and cost of goods, customer and vendor master data, the month-end close, and reporting and planning.

\n

• Deliver Future-State Design and Roadmap: Partner with the CFO and CTO on the future-state vision. Recommend what can be changed in place versus what requires new records, preserving historical reporting, and lay out a phased plan for execution in the client's sandbox environment.

\n

• Redesign Chart of Accounts and Segments: Rationalize the chart of accounts and its mapping, introduce department coding, and preserve comparability with prior-period reporting.

\n

• Clean Up the Item Master: Rationalize duplicate SKUs created across pack sizes and sales channels, and establish clear ownership and process for new item creation.

\n

• Clean Up Customer and Vendor Masters: Clean up and standardize customer and vendor master records.

\n

• Standardize Processes and SOPs: Document end-to-end business processes and SOPs, including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, inventory and assembly, and record-to-report through the month-end close.

\n

• Strengthen Reporting and Planning: Improve the underlying structure that reporting depends on, and evaluate the planning and reporting approach, including the current NetSuite Planning and Budgeting setup.

\n

• Assess WMS Readiness: Evaluate readiness to activate NetSuite WMS, including receiving, lot tracking, putaway and overstock.

\n

• Functional Project Leadership: Serve as the strategic functional lead while working directly with the CFO and CTO. Oversee and quality-check the work of hands-on consultants during execution, and transfer knowledge so the internal team can sustain the processes going forward.

\n

\n

Qualifications

\n

• Level of Job Category Experience: Demonstrated experience operating at the Controller, Senior Controller or VP of Finance level, or as a senior functional lead at a NetSuite partner or advisory firm. Must possess a strong track record as an advisory functional lead on NetSuite implementations and optimizations.

\n

• NetSuite: Must have deep, hands-on functional expertise with NetSuite, including multiple full-cycle implementations and post-go-live optimization projects. Experience working in a sandbox and deploying changes in phases is required.

\n

• Manufacturing and Distribution: Hands-on experience with assembly items and bills of materials, assembly builds, inventory costing and cost of goods, lot tracking, and multi-channel sales including marketplaces such as Amazon.

\n

• Core Skills and Technical Tasks: Chart of accounts and segment redesign, master data cleanup while preserving history, SOP and close process documentation, CSV imports and mass updates, and saved searches and reporting.

\n

• Preferred: Experience with NetSuite WMS, NetSuite Planning and Budgeting, and the food and beverage or consumer products industry.

\n

• Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required. CPA or NetSuite ERP Consultant Certification preferred.

\n

• Location: Based in Miami or South Florida and able to work on-site regularly.
