This role relies on senior engineers for complex design decisions while consistently delivering high-quality, well-tested solutions. The engineer provides accurate estimates, contributes to technical discussions and code reviews, supports production issues, and helps improve team processes.

Responsibilities

- Independently design, develop, test, and deliver moderately complex features, enhancements, and defect fixes.
- Research and analyze technical requirements and recommend solutions aligned with team standards, considering security, reliability, performance, scalability, and data integrity.
- Provide accurate effort estimates and consistently deliver within commitments.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical discussions.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, database engineers, business stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver team objectives.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leverage approved AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, documentation, troubleshooting, and code reviews while validating outputs for accuracy and security.
- Participate in code reviews with a focus on quality, maintainability, test coverage, and adherence to development standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective solutions.
- Develop and maintain automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
- Share knowledge through mentoring, code reviews, pair programming, and documentation.

Required Qualifications
\n

- 3-5 years of professional software development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Strong experience with Java or C#/.NET, including development, debugging, testing, and production support.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or similar technologies, with sound judgment in validating generated outputs.
- Proficiency with Git-based workflows, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, merge conflict resolution, and CI/CD practices.
- Experience building, consuming, testing, and troubleshooting REST APIs and integrations.
- Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, schema updates, and data quality troubleshooting.
- Ability to independently analyze and solve moderately complex technical problems.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Angular or other modern front-end frameworks.
- Experience working with Oracle databases.

- Understanding of secure software development practices within regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Experience within energy, utilities, financial services, or other highly regulated industries.
