<p>Starting as a trainee who will initially work under close supervision from the foreman and Manager, District Services, but should develop into a coordinator who directs contractors for services needed for the upkeep of East End District Greenspaces grounds. This person is required to perform routine grounds and building maintenance, gardening, clean-ups and unskilled manual work and learn to operate equipment such as mowers, edgers, trimmers, blowers, and to perform semi-skilled work in varying craft areas. This person is also expected to be capable of or have some knowledge in operating light equipment and power tools, perform semi-skilled pruning and landscape care tasks , and are able to apply the techniques and use the tools of on or more of these categories; carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, small equipment repair or welding. Initially, this person is not required to have all the skills listed in this job description but is expected to learn them with training. </p>
