Location: South Carolina – Fully Onsite
Work Arrangement: 5 Days Onsite
Contract: 12 Months


Candidate Requirement: Candidate must be a South Carolina resident or willing to relocate to South Carolina before starting the assignment at their own expense.

Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Analyst will serve as a system testing specialist supporting enrollment and eligibility systems, including document management and workflow applications. The consultant will provide QA expertise for projects involving Medicaid enrollment, eligibility, claims processing, and related subsystems.

The role will be responsible for evaluating proposed and implemented solutions, developing and executing testing strategies, identifying defects and security issues, and recommending improvements to ensure systems meet business, technical, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop test plans, QA processes, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes, test cases, and test scenarios.
  • Translate business requirements and policy documentation into detailed test cases and scenarios.
  • Design and execute UI, regression, reliability, stability, usability, and functional testing.
  • Perform:
    • Smoke Testing
    • System Integration Testing (SIT)
    • End-to-End (E2E) Testing
    • Regression Testing
    • Negative Testing
    • User Acceptance Testing
  • Design and develop automated test scripts using established test automation guidelines.
  • Utilize Sahi Pro/Selenium Automation Framework for test automation.
  • Proactively identify defects, issues, risks, and action items.
  • Track impediments and coordinate with technical teams and leadership to achieve timely resolutions.
  • Perform quality assessments to identify:
    • Security flaws
    • Software defects
    • Performance issues
    • Optimization opportunities
  • Maintain defect databases and track issues through resolution.
  • Establish and promote QA best practices, processes, policies, and testing standards.
  • Ensure projects comply with established software testing governance requirements.
  • Review, conduct walkthroughs of, and inspect test plans, test scripts, scenarios, and test results.
  • Provide oversight and approval of vendor unit/system integration test plans and results.
  • Provide guidance on preparation and review of test plans and test scripts.
  • Prepare and review test reports.
  • Monitor testing progress against targets and report exceptions.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, product teams, technicians, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate testing results, open issues, defects, and gaps to management and development teams.
  • Prepare and publish testing status reports.
  • Participate in SDLC and Agile delivery processes.
  • Recommend solutions to improve system quality, performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Required Skills

1. Quality Assurance / Quality Control

  • 5+ years of QA/QC experience.

2. Test Case & Scenario Development

  • 5+ years of experience translating business requirements or policy documentation into:
    • Test cases
    • Test scenarios
    • Testing conditions
  • Experience building and executing test cases within test systems.

3. Test Automation

  • 3+ years of experience with Sahi Pro/Selenium Automation Framework.
  • Ability to design and develop automated test scripts.
  • Experience following formal test automation guidelines.

4. Testing Methodologies
Strong hands-on experience with:

  • Smoke Testing
  • System Integration Testing (SIT)
  • End-to-End Testing
  • Regression Testing
  • Negative Testing
  • Usability Testing
  • UI Testing
  • UAT

5. Process/Quality Framework

  • Working knowledge of at least ONE of the following:
    • SPICE
    • TPI
    • TMMI
    • CMMI OPF
    • CMMI OPD
    • CMMI PPQA

6. Formal Test Design Techniques

  • Direct hands-on experience with:
    • Equivalence Class Partitioning
    • Pairwise Analysis
  • Experience with formal test design methodologies.

7. Test Design Tools

  • Experience with PICT or an equivalent orthogonal-array/test-design tool.

Preferred Skills

  • 5+ years of experience with large enterprise or e-business systems.
  • 3+ years of Medicaid or healthcare experience.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare operations and business processes, preferably Medicaid.
  • Experience with X12 standards.
  • Experience with HIPAA EDI transactions.
  • Proficiency with Atlassian tools, particularly:
    • JIRA
    • Confluence
  • Experience working in Waterfall/SDLC environments.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Technical, Business, or Healthcare field.

OR

  • 5+ years of equivalent QA experience may substitute for the degree.
