Temp to Hire
Canastota, NY
Day Shift, Monday-Friday and Sunday, 8:00am-5:30pm
Pay Rate: $25–$27/hr

What’s a typical day as Lead QA Technician? You’ll be:

  • Assisting Quality Management in coaching and monitoring department technicians.
  • Performing critical inspections using precision measurement equipment (micrometers, height gauges, pin/thread gauges, etc.).
  • Ensuring proper protocols and processes are followed throughout the organization.
  • Creating and documenting inspection procedures and completing FAI inspections and nonconformance reports.
  • Collecting and communicating inspection data to management and customers as needed.
  • Collaborating across departments to maintain high-quality standards in production.

This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Have 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing quality assurance, control, or inspection (plastic injection or machined components preferred).
  • Have previous lead, trainer, or supervisor experience (preferred).
  • Possess strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, inspection methods, and quality documentation.
  • Can read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T.
  • Have experience with CMM programming and precision measuring equipment.
  • Are familiar with ISO 90001 or other quality standards.
  • Are proficient in basic data entry using Excel.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, leadership abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Are able to move through the production floor, stand for inspections, lift up to 50 lbs, and handle components with manual dexterity.
  • Can commute reliably to Canastota, NY.
