Job Description
The Maintenance Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs production and facility equipment while performing both preventive and reactive maintenance. This role ensures equipment reliability, supports consistent product quality, and helps maintain safe, efficient plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair production machinery and plant facility equipment to support continuous operations.
- Perform highly diversified duties across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities to minimize downtime.
- Diagnose equipment problems, identify root causes, replace or repair parts, test equipment, and make necessary adjustments.
- Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during operation, as well as scheduled maintenance during machine service windows.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals, technical documents, and work orders to determine required maintenance and service tasks.
- Perform basic machinist tasks as needed to support repair and maintenance activities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment safely and effectively.
- Monitor product quality levels and adjust manufacturing processes as needed to maintain product integrity.
- Maintain controls and practices that support plant performance and adherence to budgeted goals.
- Detect faulty operations, defective materials, or unusual conditions and promptly report them to the appropriate supervision.
- Assist and train production employees in the proper operation and basic maintenance of machinery.
- Understand, follow, and enforce all established safety, health, quality, GMP, and company policies, procedures, and recognized practices.
- Interact professionally with managers, employees, vendors, and customers while providing maintenance support.
- Maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance to support plant operations.
- Travel on a limited basis as needed for maintenance-related activities, training, or support.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial, manufacturing, or plant environment.
- Strong electrical skills, including work with 3-phase power systems.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing production machinery and facility equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience working on gears, bearings, belts, and related mechanical components.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience performing preventive maintenance on industrial equipment and facilities.
- Ability to troubleshoot and work with PLC controls and PLC-based equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Competence using hand tools, power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment safely.
- Ability to detect and report faulty operations, defective materials, and unusual conditions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality-focused production environments.
- Experience monitoring product quality and adjusting processes to maintain product standards.
- Basic machinist skills to support fabrication or modification of parts when needed.
- Computer literacy and basic typing skills for documentation, work orders, and communication.
- Ability to train and support production employees in proper machine operation and basic maintenance.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with shifting priorities.
- Willingness to travel on a limited basis for training or support activities.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing plant environment working directly with production machinery and facility systems. You will work around mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and regularly use hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment. Multiple shift options are available, including 12-hour day shifts (approximately 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), 12-hour night shifts (approximately 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.), and 8-hour day shifts (approximately 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.), depending on operational needs. The work involves standing, walking, and moving between machines on the plant floor, responding to equipment issues as they arise, and performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Safety procedures, established policies, and quality standards guide daily activities in a structured, production-driven setting.

This is a Permanent position based out of West Hazleton, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
Benefits include medical, dental, vision and basic life insurance. Employees are able to enroll in the companys 401K Employee Saving Plan and may participate in its Employee Wellness Program. Employees will also receive paid time off in accordance with company policy and state law requirements.
