Complete Staffing is partnering with an AWESOME organization to identify an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join its technology team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges, modernizing cloud infrastructure, and improving software delivery processes. The Senior DevOps Engineer will play a key role in advancing the organization's DevOps capabilities, with a focus on cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, platform engineering, system reliability, and emerging AI-enabled operational tools.

This individual will serve as a senior technical resource, helping establish best practices, mentor fellow engineers, and develop scalable, secure, and repeatable solutions that improve the reliability and efficiency of technology operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • DevOps & CI/CD: Design, implement, and optimize continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines to support reliable, secure, and repeatable software releases.
  • Cloud Engineering: Develop and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud and hybrid infrastructure, preferably within Microsoft Azure.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Build automation solutions and Infrastructure as Code using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell, Python, Azure DevOps, and GitHub Actions.
  • Platform Engineering: Develop reusable deployment templates, self-service workflows, and standardized engineering practices that improve developer productivity and streamline delivery.
  • Site Reliability Engineering: Apply reliability engineering principles to improve system availability, performance, incident response, capacity planning, and operational efficiency.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Implement and enhance monitoring, logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and dashboards to improve system visibility and accelerate troubleshooting.
  • Technical Leadership: Serve as a technical escalation point, mentor other engineers, lead complex troubleshooting efforts, and promote engineering best practices.
  • Security & Compliance: Integrate security controls into pipelines and automation, including secrets management, identity and access controls, vulnerability scanning, and compliance requirements.
  • Environment Management: Automate environment provisioning, configuration management, patching, release readiness, and other operational processes.
  • Cloud-Native Technologies: Support containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, where appropriate.
  • AI-Enabled Operations: Evaluate and responsibly leverage AI-assisted tools to improve troubleshooting, documentation, automation, and engineering productivity while maintaining appropriate security controls.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with application development, infrastructure, database, security, and operations teams to improve deployment processes and production reliability.
  • Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and operational standards while researching new tools and technologies to improve engineering practices.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of progressive experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, systems engineering, platform engineering, infrastructure automation, or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience designing, supporting, and improving CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Python, Bash, or comparable languages.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or Ansible.
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably Microsoft Azure, including networking, compute, storage, identity, security, monitoring, and cost optimization.
  • Understanding of modern DevOps practices, release management, infrastructure automation, and operational support.
  • Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps principles, including secure pipeline design, secrets management, vulnerability scanning, and access controls.
  • Experience supporting enterprise applications, databases, middleware, or other business-critical systems across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently, lead technical initiatives, and mentor engineers without requiring direct people-management responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with platform engineering practices, internal developer platforms, self-service automation, and reusable deployment patterns.
  • Knowledge of Site Reliability Engineering principles, including service-level indicators, service-level objectives, error budgets, incident reviews, and toil reduction.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and cloud-native application deployment.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering and operations tools.
  • Experience with hybrid infrastructure environments and enterprise application platforms.
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Solutions Architect, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, Kubernetes, or related DevOps certifications.
