Seattle & Tacoma | $28-$30/hour | Monday through Friday

If you've been working as a porter and you're the person who grabs the toolbox when something breaks, this role is your next step. A growing, locally operated property management company is looking for a hands-on maintenance tech who wants to build real skills and grow along with the business.
You'll split your week between apartment maintenance and property upkeep. About 25 hours go to repairs and unit turns, and about 12-15 hours go to janitorial and grounds work. That mix makes this a great fit for someone with porter experience who's ready to take on more maintenance responsibility. You keep doing what you already know while building the plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry skills that grow a maintenance career.

What you'll do
- Handle routine maintenance and repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry
- Respond to resident and property manager requests quickly and professionally
- Inspect units and common areas and fix issues before they turn into big problems
- Get vacant units ready for new residents through cleaning, painting, and minor repairs
- Help coordinate unit turns and work with outside vendors
- Keep common areas and grounds clean and well maintained
- Keep clear records of the work you complete
- Follow safety rules and building codes on every job
- Take on other tasks as needed and share on-call coverage for emergencies
What you bring
- 2+ years of apartment maintenance, porter, or related experience
- Working knowledge of basic plumbing and electrical, and the ability to troubleshoot common problems
- Comfort working on your own and as part of a team
- Good communication and a friendly, resident-first attitude
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel regularly between Seattle and Tacoma
- English proficiency (Spanish is a plus but not required)
The work itself
- This job is physical and takes place both indoors and outdoors in all kinds of Pacific Northwest weather. You'll lift and carry heavy items, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, and spend long stretches standing, walking, bending, and kneeling. Some weekend, holiday, or on-call work may come up.
