Maintenance Supervisor

Reports to: Maintenance Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt


Job Purpose

Supervise daily maintenance operations, staff, and work assignments to ensure buildings, grounds, equipment, and electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and related systems are properly maintained and operational.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, assign, and coordinate the daily work of maintenance employees.
  • Plan and schedule preventive and routine maintenance and establish work priorities.
  • Inspect facilities and equipment, identify problems, and initiate corrective action.
  • Diagnose and perform complex maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Supervise maintenance activities including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general repairs.
  • Determine required materials, equipment, and supplies and allocate personnel and resources as needed.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and completeness.
  • Maintain clean, organized, safe, and operational work areas, including docks, aisles, break areas, bathrooms, and offices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of technical education in maintenance, repair, or a related field, or equivalent training and experience.
  • At least two years of general maintenance experience, including the ability to identify electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues.
  • Strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills, reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, not required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to lead and manage a diverse workforce and communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and solve problems with minimal direction.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills with the ability to evaluate facts and draw appropriate conclusions.
  • Ability to operate MHE

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Climb stairs regularly.

Work Environment

  • Work in a distribution center environment with varying temperatures.
