Job DescriptionDoubleTree Suites by Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and building systems to ensure a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for our guests and team members.

The ideal candidate will perform routine preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair a variety of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance issues. This position will respond promptly to maintenance requests, complete work orders efficiently, and assist with emergency repairs and operational needs as they arise.

The Maintenance Technician will regularly inspect the property to identify potential safety hazards, maintenance concerns, and equipment issues, reporting significant problems to management. The position requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a commitment to providing excellent service to both guests and team members.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a fast-paced hotel environment and have the flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as the hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The ability to safely lift, carry, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and perform other physical tasks associated with hotel maintenance is required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections throughout the hotel.

  • Respond promptly to guest and departmental maintenance requests.

  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and general building issues.

  • Maintain guest rooms, public areas, equipment, and facilities in good working condition.

  • Complete maintenance work orders and document repairs accurately.

  • Identify and report safety hazards, equipment failures, and property damage to management.

  • Assist with emergency maintenance situations and respond appropriately to urgent requests.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance areas in a clean and organized condition.

  • Follow all company, hotel, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Use appropriate personal protective equipment and follow safe work practices.

  • Provide courteous and professional service to guests and team members.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous hotel maintenance, building maintenance, engineering, or related experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general mechanical systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.

  • Must be dependable, safety-conscious, and customer-service oriented.

  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.

  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and lifting as required.
