Sr. Software Engineer- Python and React

Hybrid role- onsite three days a week in the Charlotte, NC area

\n

$75-$85/hour

\n

Long Term Contract role

The Planet Group has partnered with a Charlotte, NC company to locate a senior engineer to build applications used by investment and research teams. This is a hands-on full stack role combining Python, React, and AWS with data-intensive work.

\n

\n

The successful candidate will help turn research ideas into reliable tools: applications that process large datasets, run analyses, test investment models, and make results useful to the people making decisions.

\n

Responsibilities:

\n

\n
• Build and maintain Python services and React-based applications.

\n

• Develop APIs, data workflows, and cloud applications that support research and analytics.

\n

• Work with researchers, product partners, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.

\n

• Design for performance, security, reliability, and ease of support.

\n

• Improve deployment pipelines and help support applications in production.

\n

• Explore new technical approaches through prototypes and collaborative design work.

\n

\n

Required Skills and Experience

\n

\n
• Strong hands-on Python development experience.

\n

• Experience building user-facing applications with React; Dash experience is also useful.

\n

• Solid AWS development experience, including cloud-hosted services and data processing.

\n

• Experience with REST APIs, relational databases, and CI/CD practices.

\n

• Comfort working with substantial datasets and solving problems across both the application and data layers.

\n

• The ability to explain technical decisions and work closely with business and technical partners.
