Location – Minneapolis, MN 55450

Job type – 12 months contract with possible extension

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Server & Hardware Support Technician to provide onsite technical support, computer hardware repair, diagnostics, and maintenance services for Dell systems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience troubleshooting Dell laptops and PCs, replacing critical hardware components, and delivering high-quality technical support in a field service environment.

This position offers an opportunity to work with enterprise-level technology, resolve complex hardware issues, and deliver reliable technical solutions directly at customer locations. Candidates should demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills, customer service capabilities, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

Perform onsite installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of computer hardware and related software.
Diagnose and repair Dell laptops, desktop PCs, and associated equipment.
Replace defective components, including motherboards, LCD screens, and other computer hardware.
Perform advanced hardware diagnostics and resolve technical issues efficiently.
Provide field engineering support to enterprise customers and manage assigned service requests from initiation through resolution.
Conduct scheduled installations, hardware upgrades, and maintenance activities.
Perform server maintenance and troubleshooting as required.
Maintain accurate service records, technical documentation, and repair reports.
Communicate technical findings, service updates, and recommendations to management and customers.
Collaborate with technical teams to resolve recurring issues and improve service delivery.

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Hands-on experience in computer hardware repair and field engineering.
Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting Dell laptops and desktop PCs.
Practical experience replacing motherboards, LCD screens, and other hardware components.
Experience with server maintenance is preferred.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills.

Preferred Experience

Two to four years of relevant technical support, computer hardware repair, or field engineering experience.
Recent hands-on experience replacing motherboards and LCD screens.
Experience supporting Dell enterprise hardware and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
Familiarity with server hardware maintenance, system upgrades, and preventive maintenance procedures.
