We are seeking a Senior Mainframe Network Engineer to support a large financial client in Chandler, AZ. This role focuses on designing, engineering, and operating high-availability network solutions for mainframe environments, including TCP/IP and SNA/APPN integrations. You will lead modernization efforts, improve observability, and drive automation initiatives to enhance reliability and performance. The position requires deep troubleshooting expertise across multi-layer network environments and collaboration to meet strict performance, resiliency, and security standards.
Required Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale, high-availability network environments
• Strong TCP/IP networking expertise, including OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, and EtherChannel/PortChannel
• Advanced troubleshooting skills with packet trace analysis and multi-layer diagnostics
• Experience supporting SNA/APPN networking environments
• Knowledge of network infrastructure components such as switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs
• Understanding of TLS/SSL, certificates, and REST APIs
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and mainframe connectivity issues
• Experience working in high-performance, business-critical systems environments
