Job Summary:
Position Title: General Service Worker
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87102
Duration: 2 years Contract Assignment
Pay Rate: $14.71/hr
Work Schedule: 8:00am-5:00pm with two 15-minute breaks, and an hour lunch 5 days a week. With flexible shifts
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with routine at all locations; Zoo and Aquarium/Botanic Garden/Tingley
- Provide excellent customer service to guests.
- Custodians, Grounds, and cart pulling.
- Clean and maintain city buildings and restrooms. Sweeping, mopping, using hand tools and chemical cleaning agents.
- Wash and dust walls, counters, doors, and windows. Wiping away vandalism.
- Assist with set up and break down of various rooms, sites, and special events.
- Collect and empty trash cans, waste baskets, and remove trash from offices and public areas.
- Clean restrooms, scour and clean all fixtures using disinfectant, check and replenish tissue, paper towels, soap, and sanitizer.
- Keeping storage closets stocked and cleaned.
- Usage of a leaf blower on walkways. Sweeping and keeping walkways clean and clear. Replenishing Sanitizer stations and pushing a cart for long periods of time.
- During inclement weather, remove snow, ice and water puddles from walkways, and entrance areas.
- Cart Pulling, using a city vehicle to pull heavy carts of trash and animal feces, usage of grease to maintain usage of trash carts. Using a trash compacter.
- might use a pressure washer.
- Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
- Adhere to safe work practices and procedures.
- A LOT OF WALKING- Be able to handle working outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Applicants must be 18 years or older, have a High School diploma or GED.
- Candidates must pass a security background check to be hired.
- Applicants must carry a valid DL and birth certificate or Social Security card for the interview.
- After a brief interview, selected candidates will move for paperwork.
- Be punctual.
- Have attention to detail.
- Be motivated to aid in all areas without constant direction.
- Be proficient in communication.
- Be comfortable working alone and in a team environment.
