Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Quality Technician to support manufacturing operations through the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of quality processes. This role focuses on applying quality principles and methodologies to ensure products consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Release products for shipment by verifying required documentation and certifications.
- Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
- Perform dimensional inspection and verification of PPAPs, First Articles, and production parts.
- Support manufacturing teams by interpreting documentation and providing measurement guidance.
- Conduct receiving inspections of raw materials and components.
- Collect, analyze, and report quality metrics.
- Program and operate FARO and Micro-Vu measurement systems.
- Prioritize inspection and testing activities within the quality lab.
- Perform audits of manufacturing processes, workmanship standards, and documentation.
- Develop and execute calibration procedures in accordance with ISO requirements.
- Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues, driving corrective and preventive actions.
- Train and mentor quality inspectors and new team members.
- Support implementation and communication of quality initiatives and projects.
- Lead or participate in quality audits and continuous improvement activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, quality performance, and operational efficiency.
- Assist with employee development and departmental training programs.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of quality experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably metal fabrication.
- Experience working within a continuous improvement and quality management system (QMS).
- Strong understanding of inspection methods, measurements, and quality tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, engineering drawings, and specifications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong mathematical skills, including fractions, decimals, ratios, percentages, and basic statistical analysis.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard business software.
- Certified Quality Technician (CQT) or similar certification preferred.
- Experience programming and operating FARO and Micro-Vu equipment is highly desirable.
Education
- Associate degree in a related technical field preferred.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, vibration, and varying noise levels.
- Occasional exposure to electrical hazards.
- Use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and use hands for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, handling, and movement of materials up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and climb when necessary.
- Strong visual acuity, including close vision, depth perception, color recognition, and focus adjustment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Agawam, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56000.00 - $73000.00/yr.
