JTEKT Automotive – Piedmont, SC

Starting on 2nd Shift | Transitioning to 12-Hour Night Shift Schedule

Up to $32.38/hr + $2.00/hr Shift Differential

HTI is partnering with JTEKT Automotive in Piedmont, SC to hire experienced Maintenance Technicians to support the facility's continued growth following a recent plant expansion. As production has increased, JTEKT is continuing to add to its maintenance team to support additional equipment and manufacturing capacity.

This position will initially work on 2nd shift, with plans for the maintenance department to transition to a 12-hour night shift (2-2-3 schedule) as the team continues to grow and the long-term staffing plan is implemented.

Schedule

  • Initial Schedule: 2nd Shift
  • Future Schedule: 12-Hour Night Shift (2-2-3 Rotation)
  • Shift Differential: $2.00/hr for off-shifts

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Technician, you will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and improve production equipment and facility systems while supporting safe and efficient operations throughout the plant.

Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, hydraulic prints, and mechanical drawings.
  • Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Replace and repair bearings, bushings, slides, pumps, motors, valves, and other machine components.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain air compressors, chillers, evaporators, and coolant systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair servo motors and servo amplifiers.
  • Troubleshoot and repair AC/DC motors and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).

Automation & Controls

  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment using ladder logic as a diagnostic tool.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts involving sensors, drives, servos, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot CNC turning centers and grinding equipment.
  • Create and maintain machine backups when required.

Fabrication & Continuous Improvement

  • Perform equipment modifications and repairs using fabrication tools and equipment.
  • Utilize saws, drills, metal brakes, shears, and other common shop equipment.
  • Welding experience (MIG, TIG, and Stick) is a plus.
  • Assist with equipment rebuilds, refurbishments, and continuous improvement projects.

Maintenance Operations

  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Analyze equipment failures and determine root causes.
  • Maintain organized spare parts inventory and maintenance work areas using 5S principles.
  • Order parts and coordinate repairs with minimal supervision.
  • Assist with facility maintenance projects as needed.
  • Support and train other maintenance team members when necessary.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Minimum 3-5 years of industrial maintenance experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, and industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Preferred

  • Associate Degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or related technical field.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience.
  • CNC maintenance experience.
  • Servo drive and motion control experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
