Apartment Maintenance Technician / Handyman

Pay: $18–$26 per hour, with higher pay considered for qualified candidates with certifications and extensive experience

Emerald Bay Management is looking for a reliable, hardworking Maintenance Technician / Handyman to join our apartment maintenance team in Dayton, Ohio!
We're not necessarily looking for someone who knows everything. We're looking for someone who knows how to get things done, takes pride in their work, and can handle a variety of everyday maintenance tasks without needing someone to hold their hand.
Whether you're an experienced maintenance professional or someone with solid hands-on skills looking to grow in the field, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing -->
Every day is a little different in apartment maintenance! Responsibilities include:
- Completing general maintenance and repairs in occupied and vacant apartments
- Troubleshooting and handling basic plumbing, electrical, and HVAC-related issues within your qualifications
- Performing drywall repairs, painting, caulking, and other general handyman tasks
- Repairing or replacing fixtures, hardware, appliances, and other apartment components
- Preparing vacant apartments for new residents
- Maintaining common areas, buildings, and grounds
- Responding to maintenance requests professionally and efficiently
- Identifying problems and taking initiative to resolve them
- Helping keep our communities clean, functional, and looking their best
What We're Looking For-->
You don't need to be a master of every trade, but you do need to bring some useful skills to the table!
Our ideal candidate:
- Has hands-on experience with general repairs, construction, apartment maintenance, or handyman work
- Can confidently use common hand and power tools
- Has basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Can work independently and stay productive throughout the day
- Is dependable, punctual, and takes pride in doing a job correctly
- Can communicate professionally with residents and coworkers
- Is willing to learn new skills and tackle different projects
- Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Apartment maintenance experience is a plus, but not required.
HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other trade certifications are especially valuable and may qualify candidates for higher pay.
