Job Description
Join a dynamic team dedicated to designing and developing cutting-edge permanent magnet servo and stepper motors. You will collaborate with engineers and product management to innovate and implement strategic plans, contributing to a new product roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop rotating machines for industrial, commercial, and specialized environments, focusing on permanent magnet servos and hybrid steppers.
- Perform magnetic circuit design and analysis.
- Handle mechanical design, housing, and packaging of electric motors.
- Maintain development and customer project timelines and budgets.
- Manage development and regulatory compliance/certification projects.
- Employ best practices in magnetic circuit design and enhance skills through independent research, skills development programs, and post-graduate coursework.
- Evaluate capital equipment and assist in developing and executing capital expenditures plans.
- Collaborate with the Staff Engineer to develop engineering standards for motor design, including compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Develop strategies for compliance and maintain product and component data, completing customer requests for regulatory and compliance documentation.
- Improve engineering and production risk assessments and guide product and process improvements based on analysis.
- Work with customers and various functional areas to identify, define, and develop products and services.
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and guide product engineers and manufacturing through process improvements.
- Analyze product returns to focus on product improvements in their application.
- Travel as necessary to support requirements.
- Assist in developing and implementing improvements for inventory and product management systems.
- Focus on continual improvement in processes, quality management, and regulatory requirements.
- Create and revise schedules, project budgets, documents, BOMs, drawings, and process guidelines to support activities.
Essential Skills
- B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of motor design experience with permanent magnet AC and brushless DC.
- Experience in rotating electromagnetic machines.
- Hands-on mechanical and test experience with capabilities to support and troubleshoot designs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency in product management.
- Experience with Solidworks, Six Sigma, motor design, mechanical troubleshooting, and testing.
- Knowledge of magnetic circuit design.
- Familiarity with UL60110, ICEX, ATEX certifications.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $48.07/hr.
