AWS Databricks Engineer
\n
Location: Chicago IL / 5 days Onsite per week

Must Have (Required)
\n
1. Databricks on AWS Enterprise Architecture
\n
o Led multiple Databricks implementations on AWS.
\n
o Experience operating in a large, regulated enterprise environment.
\n
o Deep expertise working in an enterprise environment containing multiple
\n
\n
Databricks workspaces.
\n
2. Databricks Platform Foundation Experience
\n
o Established governance, security, workspace, catalog, and data-sharing standards
\n
o Built reusable platform accelerators, patterns/reference architectures, and engineering guardrails.
\n
o Strong Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and enterprise governance expertise.
\n
\n
3. Migration Experience
\n
o Proven delivery of migrations from:
\n
§ AWS Glue → Databricks
\n
§ Aurora PostgreSQL → Databricks
\n
§ AWS data lake platforms → Databricks Lakehouse
\n
o Experience modernizing ETL frameworks, pipelines, and operational processes during migration.
\n
\n
4. Hands-On Technical Skills
\n
o Databricks Workflows
\n
o Spark/PySpark/Declarative Pipelines
\n
o Delta Lake
\n
o SQL Warehouses
\n
o CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code
\n
o AWS S3, IAM, networking, and security controls
\n
\n
Strongly Preferred
\n
5. Governance & Compliance
\n
o Experience implementing RBAC/ABAC and data governance controls.
\n
o Background supporting audit, privacy, security, or compliance requirements in regulated industries.
\n
\n
6. Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences Experience
\n
o Experience working in Pharma, Biotech, Healthcare, or similarly regulated industries.
\n
o Familiarity with GxP and validated systems.
\n
