Job Description
Senior Software Engineer

\n
Location: Remote (US) | Type: Contract | Experience: 7+ years | Pay: Up to $70/hr

\n
About the Role
\n
We're hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate cloud-native applications on AWS for enterprise clients of a cloud services and application modernization consultancy. You'll own medium and large features end to end, from design through deployment, and take the technical lead on projects when the engagement calls for it.
\n
\n
Projects run on a two-week sprint cadence: daily standups, peer code review, grooming and estimation, demo at the end. It's a small enough team that the work you ship is visible, and a delivery shop, so you'll move between codebases and business domains rather than living in one product for three years.
\n
\n
What You'll Do
\n
- \n
- Architect and operate cloud-based applications and systems on AWS, keeping the design honest against what the client actually needs
- Take medium and large features through the whole lifecycle: design, build, deploy, iterate
- Evaluate and integrate new cloud technologies to support modernization work, and make the call on what's worth adopting
- Investigate and fix defects in existing software, then refactor for maintainability and performance
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines across multiple stacks, including pull requests, branch management, and builds
- Review technical design docs, participate in technical reviews, and write documentation that survives your rotation off the project
- Step in as technical lead when a project needs one

Why Join Us
\n
You'll join an Application Modernization practice where engineers get real ownership of features rather than tickets handed down a chain. The work is varied, the clients are large, and the standard is that whatever you ship gets maintained by somebody after you.
