The Senior ServiceNow Developer serves as the primary support, maintenance, and troubleshooting resource for ServiceNow-based solutions, with additional responsibilities supporting Microsoft 365 and related low-code platforms. This role focuses on ensuring the stability, availability, and reliability of existing production systems, while occasionally supporting the design, configuration, and enhancement of ServiceNow solutions as business needs evolve.
The ideal candidate has strong experience maintaining and supporting ServiceNow in production, the ability to analyze issues and requests, and business analyst–style skills to translate ideas and operational needs into logical workflows and actionable technical solutions.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Serve as the primary technical resource for maintaining and supporting ServiceNow applications and modules.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve ServiceNow issues.
- Respond to incidents, defects, and user-reported issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal impact to operations.
- Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Support ServiceNow upgrades, patching, and platform changes to ensure continued system stability.
- Support design, development, and configuration of ServiceNow solutions when required.
- Enhance existing workflows, forms, and configurations to meet changing business needs.
- Assist with new ServiceNow solution development under defined scope and direction.
- Ensure configurations follow best practices for supportability, maintainability, and security.
- Work directly with business Analysts and stakeholders to: Understand requests, issues, and operational needs. Ask clarifying questions and identify underlying requirements.
- Translate ideas and requests into logical workflows, technical approaches, and implementation steps.
- Recommend improvements to existing processes and automation opportunities.
- Document workflows, configurations, and support procedures.
- Support the development, maintenance, and administration of Microsoft 365 environments, including development, test, and production.
- Maintain and support solutions built with: Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint Online.
- Assist with integrations between Microsoft 365 tools and ServiceNow where applicable.
- Coordinate with internal developers and technical teams on shared solutions.
- Provide subject matter expert (SME) guidance, instruction, and technical support to OCIO technicians and staff related to solutions implemented using Microsoft 365 Applications, Archer, ServiceNow, and similar technologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience supporting and maintaining ServiceNow in a production environment.
- Proficiency in using development tools and languages such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, ServiceNow, and Archer.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with ServiceNow scripting, workflows, and configuration.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and low-code platforms (Power Platform).
- Ability to analyze business requests and translate them into technical workflows.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Experience with Section 508 compliance.
- Proven experience in cybersecurity technologies.
- ServiceNow Certification.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with ServiceNow upgrades and platform maintenance.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow GRC, Archer, or similar risk/compliance tools.
- Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments.
- Prior experience in a hybrid support developer / business analyst role.
- Cybersecurity Certifications (CISSP, CISM, etc.)
Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar area, or equivalent experience required.
Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
