Job Title: Director of Applied AI & Data Science

Location: New Haven, Connecticut (Hybrid – 2-3 days a week in office)

About the Role

• Senior leadership role responsible for delivering enterprise AI solutions across insurance, investments, and membership domains.
• Combines hands-on technical expertise with team leadership and strategic direction.
• Focus on building scalable ML systems and Generative AI solutions (LLMs, RAG, knowledge assistants).
• Develop and deploy AI/ML models for actuarial, claims, underwriting, and investment use cases.
• Lead end-to-end productionization including APIs, pipelines, CI/CD, monitoring, and MLOps.
• Ensure integration with enterprise data platforms like Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and DB2.
• Drive Responsible AI practices, including explainability, bias mitigation, governance, and compliance.
• Define model metrics, validation strategies, and manage model lifecycle and performance.
• Lead and mentor AI/data science teams, providing architectural and technical guidance.
• Collaborate cross-functionally (engineering, risk, compliance, business) to deliver business-impacting AI solutions.
