Quality Control Inspector

Location: St. Louis, MO Area
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $20.00-$26.00/hour

Must have Skill Set:

  • Previous Quality Control inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on metrology experience.
  • High school diploma or GED required.


Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join a growing manufacturing team in the St. Louis area. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for candidates with metrology experience and a strong background in quality inspections. In this role, you'll perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections to ensure products meet customer specifications and quality standards while supporting the company's Quality Management System (QMS).


Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on manufactured products.
  • Utilize dimensional measuring equipment, including OGP (Optical Gaging Products) systems and optical comparators.
  • Apply metrology principles to verify product conformance to engineering specifications.
  • Accurately document inspection results and maintain quality records.
  • Package inspected products according to work instructions.
  • Close manufacturing work orders following inspection completion.
  • Communicate quality requirements and inspection findings with Production, Receiving, and other departments.
  • Record, investigate, and disposition Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) in a timely manner.
  • Maintain compliance with the company's Quality Management System (QMS), including policies, procedures, work instructions, and documentation requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and QMS-related activities.
  • Cross-train with team members to support operational efficiency and business continuity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Assist with annual inventory counts and inventory discrepancy resolution.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous Quality Control inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on metrology experience.
  • Experience using OGP (Optical Gaging Products) or other dimensional measuring systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and quality specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to inspect small, delicate components under microscopic magnification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to cross-train and assist other departments as needed.
