Overview: Summit Staffing is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to support a manufacturing facility in the Bloomingdale area. This is a hands-on industrial maintenance position responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machinery and other production equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong mechanical and electrical background and is comfortable diagnosing equipment problems in a machine shop or manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair CNC machinery and other production equipment
- Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Diagnose equipment failures and replace or repair defective components
- Repair and replace motors, belts, switches, wiring, fuses, and other machine components
- Use multimeters, hand tools, and power tools to diagnose and complete repairs
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manuals, and repair instructions
- Perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines and other production equipment
- Inspect machine components for wear, damage, and misalignment
- Dismantle machinery as needed to access and repair problem areas
- Test machinery after repairs to ensure proper operation
- Assist with installation of new production machinery and equipment
- Respond to emergency breakdowns and unscheduled equipment repairs
- Help develop and improve preventive maintenance procedures
- Perform general facility maintenance as needed
- Document completed maintenance and repair work
Required Experience / Qualifications:
- 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience preferred
- Hands-on experience repairing and troubleshooting CNC machinery is required
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Electrical troubleshooting experience
- Ability to use an electrical multimeter
- Experience working with motors, wiring, switches, and other electrical components
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read electrical schematics
- Comfortable using hand and power tools
- Previous maintenance experience in a machine shop, metal fabrication, CNC machining, or similar manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
- Ability to read equipment manuals, safety procedures, and maintenance instructions
- Associate or technical degree in a related field is preferred but not required with relevant experience
