Job Summary
The IT Administrator is responsible for maintaining, securing, and supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure and end user environment. This role combines systems administration, hands on Help Desk support, mobile device management, and automation through Python to improve efficiency and support modern IT operations.
Responsibilities
Systems & Infrastructure
- Administer and support Windows/macOS systems, servers, and user devices
- Manage Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange, and user access
- Maintain network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, Wi‑Fi)
- Monitor system performance, backups, patching, and endpoint security
- Support virtualization platforms (VMware / Hyper‑V)
- Maintain IT documentation, procedures, and asset inventories
Help Desk & End‑User Support
- Provide Tier 1–3 Help Desk support for hardware, software, and network issues
- Respond to and resolve issues via ticketing system, email, and remote tools
- Troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and applications
- Support users across multiple locations and field environments
- Deliver clear communication and strong customer service to non‑technical users
Mobile Device & Endpoint Management
- Manage Samsung tablets and mobile devices using Samsung Knox
- Enroll, configure, secure, and monitor devices using MDM policies
- Enforce security controls (encryption, passcodes, remote wipe, app restrictions)
- Deploy and manage applications, OS updates, and device configurations
Automation & Scripting
- Use Python to automate routine IT tasks (user provisioning, reporting, monitoring, integrations)
- Develop or maintain scripts to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual work
- Maintain and document automation workflows
User & Security Administration
- Handle user onboarding/offboarding, permissions, and licensing
- Apply security best practices (MFA, access controls, endpoint protection)
- Assist with compliance requirements, audits, and disaster recovery planning
- Coordinate with vendors and third‑party service providers
Work location, Travel and Schedule
- This role is based in the New York Metropolitan area and requires regular in-person collaboration with the VP of IT at Stuart Dean's Long Island City office approximately 3-4 days per week
- Travel to other Stuart Dean locations is required, averaging approximately four days per month
- The successful candidate should have flexibility to occasionally support West Coast operations and address business-critical IT issues outside of standard business hours when needed.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- 3–7+ years experience in IT administration, systems support, or operations
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365
- Proven Help Desk / end‑user support experience
- Experience managing Samsung devices via Samsung Knox or similar MDM platforms
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
- Working knowledge of Python scripting for IT automation
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPN)
- Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with AI‑assisted tools or AI Agents used for IT operations, automation, or support workflows
- Exposure to AI‑enabled ticketing, monitoring, or knowledge‑base solutions
- PowerShell scripting experience
- Experience with Intune, Azure, or cloud services
- IT certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, Samsung, Cisco)
