Staff reliability engineer will serve as the lead engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute on accelerated life testing, environmental testing, characterization, and other tasks required for timely qualification of Power Integrations products based on analog and digital IC devices and high-voltage GaN HEMT switching devices. Perform IC level failure analysis and troubleshooting of reliability test hardware to understand root causes of reliability failures. Characterize HV GaN HEMT device reliability with highly accelerated stress tests and develop lifetime models for the specific application profiles. Analyze accelerated test results and apply acceleration models to predict reliability in the field. Lead engineering teams in an R&D environment to develop accelerated reliability test methodology for GaN HEMT device reliability improvement.

Requirements:

  • At least 10 years of reliability engineering experience in semiconductors, preferably analog, and/or mixed signal devices.
  • In-depth knowledge and working experience with high-voltage GaN HEMT devices and process technology.
  • In-depth understanding and working knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, assembly, and testing.
  • Expertise reliability engineering, device physics, and electronic circuits with proven track record of accomplishments in product, package, and technology reliability improvements in semiconductor products.
  • Expertise in design and evaluation of reliability test hardware for dynamic life testing, reliability testing.
  • Expertise in bench testing, fault isolation, and failure analysis of silicon based and GaN based IC devices
  • Experience in qualification project planning, task management, and coordination of technical support staff
  • Expertise in statistical data analysis skills with data analysis software (TIBCO Spotfire, Reliasoft, Matlab, JMP etc.)
  • Must have excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Candidates with management experience will be given preference.

Education: B.S. degree in electrical engineering, physics, or an equivalent technical discipline. Candidates with advanced degrees will be given special consideration.

Power Integrations is committed to building teams that drive innovation and therefore review a range of factors when determining compensation. The annual base pay range for this position is $164,000 and $248,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, qualifications and work location.

The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
