Overview:
\n
We are seeking an experienced Senior Programmer / Team Lead to support our customer's core business system. This is a highly technical, hands-on leadership role within the COBOL development team.
\n

What You’ll Do
\n
- \n
- Analyze the Phoenix core business system and assigned development/modification tickets
- Lead technical analysis and recommend solutions for projects and system enhancements
- Partner with business units to develop business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Obtain business approval/sign-off on specifications
- Design, code, test, promote, and implement application changes
- Work directly with impacted users to ensure delivered solutions meet documented requirements
- Provide Level 3 production support for the Phoenix system
- Provide regular project and development status updates to management and Business Analysts
- Lead, mentor, and guide other technical team members

Required Experience
\n
- \n
- 10+ years of experience with Visual COBOL v9 or higher, including architecture and programming
- 10+ years of systems analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation experience
- 10+ years developing and maintaining complex, mission-critical applications in a Windows-based client-server environment
- 10+ years leading technical software development teams in software planning and deployment
- 10+ years coding and testing complex COBOL-based business systems using Oracle SQL
- 10+ years providing Level 3 (L3) production support
- 10+ years working directly with business units to develop and review business and technical specifications
- Strong ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications
\n

- Oracle 19+ SQL
- Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET, and C#
- Previous government/public-sector experience
- Visual COBOL technical certification
- Experience mentoring and guiding technical colleagues
- Strong experience planning, leading, directing, reviewing, and coordinating technical project work

Education
\n
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a closely related field is preferred, along with 10+ years of relevant experience.
