Your impact

  • Own visual and dimensional inspections using CMM and Faro systems.
  • Measure and validate height, length, ID/OD, true position, runout, concentricity, flatness, thread standards, and roundness.
  • Identify defects and deviations; collaborate with manufacturing to troubleshoot and recommend machining process adjustments.
  • Confirm part traceability, paperwork accuracy, and configuration to the correct drawing revision.
  • Record inspection results, keep accurate logs, and enter data into quality databases to track quality and rework.
  • Complete 100% First Article Inspections per drawings, technical instructions, and AS9100 requirements.
  • Ensure gauges are maintained and calibrated; coordinate external calibrations, source inspections, and quality audits with customers, suppliers, and governmental agencies.
  • Champion safety protocols and a clean, organized inspection area.

Reporting line

Quality organization, reporting to the Quality Manager.

Qualifications

  • 1–10 years of quality control, inspection, or related experience.
  • High attention to detail; decisive problem-solver.
  • Strong communicator—written and verbal—across production, quality, and engineering.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred: A.S. degree; technical certification in GD ASQ Certified Quality Inspector (CQI); metrology or related field.
