INTRODUCTION The Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating maintenance activities, preventive maintenance, work orders, parts and inventory, documentation, and maintenance-related projects. This position also serves as a technical resource for the maintenance team and assists with troubleshooting, training, and mentoring.

The coordinator works closely with the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, production, maintenance technicians, and outside service providers to ensure maintenance work is properly planned, prioritized, communicated, completed, and documented.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate daily maintenance activities, priorities, work orders, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor PM completion and identify maintenance needs, recurring failures, and opportunities to improve equipment reliability.
  • Assist technicians with troubleshooting and provide technical guidance in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other maintenance systems.
  • Help prioritize maintenance work based on safety, production needs, equipment condition, and available resources.
  • Maintain accurate CMMS records, work orders, equipment information, PM procedures, and maintenance documentation.
  • Coordinate parts, spare parts, inventory, purchasing needs, and vendor quotes to support maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate scheduling and communication with vendors and contractors for maintenance, equipment, and facility projects.
  • Maintain communication and continuity between maintenance shifts and production.
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, facility projects, shutdowns, and other maintenance initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on technical mentoring and training to maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Assist the Maintenance & Facilities Manager with maintenance planning, reporting, projects, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as a point of contact for routine maintenance needs when the Maintenance & Facilities Manager is unavailable.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations, including proper PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Assist with general building, facility, and property maintenance as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and maintenance troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance needs and follow work through to completion.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with maintenance, production, vendors, and contractors.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience with CMMS or computerized maintenance systems preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION

  • 3+ years of experience in maintenance related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, work orders, and maintenance planning.
  • Experience with parts inventory, purchasing, vendors, or contractors.
  • Experience with equipment installation, modification, or reliability improvement.
  • Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to maintenance personnel.
  • Technical degree, trade certification, or equivalent technical training.
  • Mig, Tig, and basic fabrication experience.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods.
    • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
    • Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment.

    POSITION INFORMATION

    Mon-Fri 10:00am-6:30pm; schedule may be adjusted based on department needs. Overtime, weekends, shutdowns, and emergency coverage may be required.
