We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, data-intensive applications in a cloud-based environment. This role will focus on building applications that ingest data from multiple sources and surface meaningful insights through correlation and analysis.

The ideal candidate brings strong software engineering fundamentals, hands-on Big Data and AWS expertise, and experience designing high-performing data pipelines and distributed systems. This individual will also provide technical leadership, contribute to architectural decisions, mentor engineers, and help drive engineering best practices across the team.
Key Responsibilities\n

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications that ingest, process, and analyze large volumes of data from multiple sources.
- Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines supporting large-scale batch and streaming workloads.
- Develop high-quality, maintainable software with a focus on performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Participate in architecture and system design discussions and contribute to technical strategy.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Identify and resolve technical risks, performance issues, and cross-team dependencies.
- Support production systems and troubleshoot complex application, data, and infrastructure issues.
- Optimize code, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure to improve performance and reduce operational complexity.
- Apply strong computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, complexity analysis, and problem-solving.
- Use AI-assisted development tools effectively while reviewing generated code for accuracy, security, maintainability, and overall quality.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, architecture, and business stakeholders to define solutions and successfully deliver technical initiatives.
- Contribute to CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, security, and overall engineering best practices.

Required Qualifications\n
- \n
- 7 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong programming experience with Java, Python, and/or Node.js.
- Strong object-oriented programming and software design experience.
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong experience with Big Data technologies, including Apache Spark.
- Hands-on experience with AWS data technologies such as EMR, Athena, Presto, and/or Trino.
- Experience designing ETL/ELT pipelines for large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and processing.
- Knowledge of batch and streaming data-processing patterns.
- Experience with data lake and data warehouse architecture, including partitioning, schema management, and formats such as Parquet, ORC, and Avro.
- Strong SQL skills, including performance tuning for analytical workloads.
- Experience with workflow orchestration technologies such as AWS Glue, Step Functions, and/or Airflow.
- Experience implementing data quality, validation, monitoring, and observability practices.
- Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Aurora.
- Experience with NoSQL technologies such as DynamoDB, MongoDB, and/or Cassandra.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, ECS, and API Gateway.
- Understanding of CloudWatch, CloudTrail, IAM, and VPC networking.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CloudFormation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, unit testing, and secure software development practices.
- Strong system design, performance tuning, and optimization experience.

Preferred Qualifications\n

- Experience with Amazon QuickSight or similar data visualization tools.
- Exposure to frontend technologies such as React or Angular.
- Experience with GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Amazon Q or similar coding assistants.
- Ability to effectively evaluate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability.

Education & Experience\n
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline with at least 7 years of relevant professional experience. An equivalent combination of education and professional experience may also be considered.
