Location: Compton, CA (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $24-25.00/hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PT
Start Date: October 1
Duration: 2-3 Month Contract Assignment
Reports To: IT Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a Desktop Support Engineer/Specialist to join our IT team in Compton, CA for a 2-3 month contract assignment. This individual will report directly to the IT Manager and work alongside two Desktop Support Engineers to support end users across multiple locations.
Responsibilities
- Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, and application-related issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve user-reported problems following established procedures and support guidelines.
- Log, track, and resolve support tickets in Zendesk while meeting SLA requirements.
- Maintain clear communication with users throughout the troubleshooting and resolution process.
- Escalate issues to IT leadership when appropriate.
- Install, configure, maintain, and repair desktops, laptops, peripherals, and software.
- Support Microsoft Windows and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Assist with Active Directory and Exchange Online administration.
- Provide remote and onsite support to users across multiple facilities.
- Support networking technologies including VPNs, routers, switches, FTP, and SMTP.
- Assist with cloud-based phone systems such as RingCentral.
- Train users on systems and applications as needed.
- Maintain support documentation and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of Desktop Support, Help Desk, or IT Support experience.
- Experience supporting:

- Microsoft Windows 10 and 11
- Microsoft 365 / Office 365
- Microsoft Exchange Online
- Active Directory
- VPN connectivity
- Network switches and routers
- FTP and SMTP services
- Cloud PBX systems (RingCentral preferred)
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery procedures.

Candidates must be available to start on October 1 and work onsite Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PT.
