Role Description The Access Control Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Concord, CA, focused on deploying, configuring, and maintaining access control and related physical security systems. This role involves installing and testing hardware and software for access control, door controllers, readers, and integrated surveillance systems, as well as troubleshooting issues to ensure continuous, secure operation. The specialist will collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand site requirements, support system design, and document configurations, changes, and procedures. Daily responsibilities include monitoring system performance, applying best practices in security and networking, assisting with audits or security assessments, and providing clear communication and training to clients or team members. The role requires adherence to safety standards and company policies, with occasional after-hours support for critical issues or deployments.\n
Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of Physical Security and Access Control systems, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
- Understanding of Cybersecurity and Information Security principles relevant to access control and integrated security solutions.
- Experience with Network Security, including secure configuration of switches, firewalls, VLANs, and IP-based security devices.
- Excellent Communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, and internal teams, and for documenting technical work clearly.
- Previous experience in security systems integration, low-voltage or IT infrastructure, or a related technical field.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and capability to work independently on-site.
- Relevant certifications or training (e.g., access control vendor certifications, CompTIA Network+, Security+) are beneficial.
- Comfort with using hand tools, test equipment, and following safety and compliance standards.
