Systems Administrator – Mission-Critical DoD Systems- Ft. Meade, MD

Our client is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support mission-critical systems in a Department of Defense environment.

\n

This is a hands-on role focused on Windows Server administration, Active Directory, virtualization, system security, and infrastructure modernization. We are specifically seeking someone who has supported systems in a mission-critical operational environment, such as DoD/DISA, SCADA/ICS, Operational Technology (OT), critical infrastructure, or a similar high-availability environment.

What You’ll Do

\n

\n
• Administer, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot Windows servers, virtual machines, workstations, and endpoint systems.

\n

• Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and related Microsoft infrastructure.

\n

• Perform system hardening, DISA STIG implementation, patching, and vulnerability remediation.

\n

• Support systems operating in mission-critical, high-availability environments.

\n

• Plan and execute Windows Server upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts.

\n

• Administer and troubleshoot VMware and/or Hyper-V environments.

\n

• Use PowerShell and command-line tools for administration, troubleshooting, and automation.

\n

• Monitor system availability, performance, capacity, and security.

\n

• Support backup, disaster recovery, COOP, and system recovery activities.

\n

• Troubleshoot Windows, hardware, software, virtualization, and network connectivity issues.

\n

• Maintain technical documentation, configurations, and operational procedures.

\n

What We’re Looking For

\n

\n
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification.

\n

• Active DoD Secret or higher security clearance.

\n

• 4+ years of hands-on Windows Server administration experience.

\n

• Experience supporting systems in a mission-critical operational environment such as DoD/DISA, SCADA/ICS, OT, critical infrastructure, or a comparable environment.

\n

• Strong Active Directory and Group Policy experience.

\n

• Experience with Windows Server upgrades and migrations.

\n

• Experience with VMware and/or Hyper-V.

\n

• Experience with PowerShell.

\n

• Experience with DISA STIGs, system hardening, patching, and vulnerability remediation.

\n

• Strong systems and network troubleshooting skills.

\n

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.

\n

Nice to Have

• SCADA, ICS, or Operational Technology (OT) experience.

\n

• SCCM/MECM experience.

\n

• Cisco networking, VLAN, TCP/IP, and subnetting experience.

\n

• Experience supporting 24/7 or high-availability operational systems.

\n

• Microsoft Windows Server certifications.
