Job Overview:
A growing manufacturing company in Fishkill, NY is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager / Maintenance Lead to oversee daily maintenance operations and ensure equipment reliability across the facility. This role is ideal for an experienced maintenance mechanic with leadership experience who can troubleshoot complex systems, manage preventive maintenance programs, and support production uptime.
You will play a critical role in maintaining mechanical efficiency, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintenance Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead and support daily maintenance activities for production equipment and facility systems
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Perform and oversee scheduled preventive maintenance programs
- Coordinate equipment repairs and respond to production-related maintenance needs
- Read and interpret technical manuals, electrical diagrams, and mechanical schematics
- Support reliability improvements and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized maintenance environment
- Collaborate with production and management teams to prioritize work orders and minimize downtime
- Take ownership of maintenance planning, execution, and follow-up
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills across electrical and mechanical systems
- Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Previous leadership or lead maintenance experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
