Software Engineer
Location: Monroe, WI - Onsite 5 days a week
Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong experience building backend systems using .NET Core and designing RESTful APIs. In this role you will develop and maintain scalable, reliable services, collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features, and contribute to system design and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is pragmatic, quality-focused, and comfortable working in a modern cloud-enabled development environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and APIs using .NET Core.
- Build well-documented, versioned RESTful APIs and ensure consistency, performance, and security.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute ideas for improving scalability, reliability, and maintainability of services.
- Write clean, modular, and testable code; create and maintain unit and integration tests.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, QA, and DevOps to deliver features end-to-end.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation to improve deployment velocity and quality.
- Review code and mentor junior engineers to uphold coding standards and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven hands-on experience with .NET Core and C# in production environments.
- Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and working with HTTP-based services.
- Solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD practices, and source control (Git).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Nice to have: experience with microservices architecture and domain-driven design.
- Nice to have: familiarity with Python, Azure DevOps, and cloud platforms such as AWS (or Azure).
