The Shubert Organization is America’s oldest professional theatre company and the largest theatre owner on Broadway. Shubert currently owns and operates 17 Broadway theatres, six off-Broadway venues, and the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia.

Shubert delivers innovative ticketing solutions via its Telecharge, API distribution, and private-label technology, offering unparalleled distribution and marketing to the theatre industry and beyond. Its consumer-facing brands—Telecharge for retail ticket sales and Broadway Inbound for tour operators and the travel industry—sell millions of tickets each year.

JOB TITLE: Off Broadway Facilities Technician

SCHEDULED HOURS:

  • 40 hours a week
  • Monday 1pm-9pm, Tuesday 9am-5pm, Wednesday 10am-3pm Saturday 10am-8:30pm, Sunday 11am-7:30pm
  • Must be able to work additional hours, including holidays, as required.

· SALARY: $65,000 per year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Job responsibilities/functions to include, but not be limited to:

  • Perform Handyman related duties such as basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical duties as needed. These will include taking direct action, tools-in-hand, for repair and maintenance.
  • Responsible for organizing, maintaining inventory logs and conducting maintenance for all Off-Broadway venues.
  • Communicate and coordinate with our Facilities team regarding all duties required for upkeep of the buildings.
  • Determine when conditions demand the services of a building trades contractor, providing instructions and supervision for such contracted services and attending meetings when necessary.
  • Assist the Facilities Manager in inspecting work performed by outside vendors/contractors.
  • Communicate with tenants and staff regarding status of all outstanding requested service.
  • Conduct monthly QA, joint preventative inspections on the facility and complete inspection reports.
  • Respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Experience working in building and facility management specifically with plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, and an understanding of the unique problems inherent in a facility open to the public 7 days a week.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain a weekly log, documenting any day-to-day tasks and projects.
  • Eager self-starter, ability to work independently.
  • Fire safety and emergency response skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

  • 3-5 years relevant work experience.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred but not required.
