Maintenance Technician / Driver
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a dependable and mechanically inclined Maintenance Technician / Driver to support facility maintenance operations and transportation needs in a manufacturing environment. This position combines hands-on maintenance responsibilities with driving duties, including the pickup and delivery of parts and materials from local vendors.
The ideal candidate will be safety-focused, self-motivated, and capable of performing a variety of maintenance tasks while working independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance department with daily facility and equipment maintenance needs.
- Operate a company vehicle to transport parts, equipment, and materials to and from local vendors.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems and facilities remain in good operating condition.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose basic equipment and facility issues.
- Complete general maintenance tasks including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and electrical repairs.
- Repair and maintain building fixtures such as lighting, locks, doors, windows, screens, walls, floors, gutters, and drains.
- Select and utilize appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for maintenance projects.
- Identify opportunities for equipment and process improvements.
- Follow all company safety policies and applicable driving regulations.
- Maintain a professional attitude and provide excellent service when interacting with vendors and team members.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, including 120V, 240V, and 480V three-phase power.
- Understanding of PVC and general plumbing systems.
- Ability to safely operate company vehicles in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- One to three years of maintenance, facilities, mechanical, or related experience preferred.
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license required.
- Clean driving record that meets company insurance requirements.
- Ability to lift, carry, bend, climb, and perform physical maintenance duties as needed.
- Safety-sensitive position.
