Responsibilities for the Data Engineering Manager:

\n

    \n
  • Lead and mentor data engineers through code reviews, pair programming, technical guidance, and best-practice sharing.
  • \n

  • Build and maintain scalable data pipelines, data models, and analytics-ready datasets using Snowflake, dbt, Python, SQL, and AWS.
  • \n

  • Partner with business and technical stakeholders to translate data needs into reliable, high-quality solutions.
  • \n

  • Support migration from legacy SQL Server and SSIS environments to a modern Snowflake data platform.
  • \n

  • Design and build dimensional data marts to support reporting, business intelligence, and analytics.
  • \n

  • Implement data quality testing, monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployments.
  • \n

  • Establish engineering standards for data modeling, documentation, security, performance, and secure data access.
  • \n

Requirements for the Data Engineering Manager:

\n

    \n
  • 6+ years of data engineering experience, including cloud data platforms.
  • \n

  • 4+ years each of hands-on experience with Snowflake, dbt (Cloud or Core), Python, and AWS.
  • \n

  • Experience building data warehouses, data marts, and production-grade data pipelines.
  • \n

  • Strong SQL skills and experience with dimensional modeling.
  • \n

  • Experience implementing CI/CD, automated deployments, and data quality testing.
  • \n

  • Experience mentoring junior or mid-level data engineers while remaining hands-on with development.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or similar.
  • \n

  • Understanding of data governance, security, role-based access control, monitoring, and compliance.
  • \n

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a lean team.
  • \n

  • Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, NC.
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications:

\n

    \n
  • SQL Server and SSIS experience, particularly within cloud migration projects.
  • \n

  • AWS or Snowflake certifications.
  • \n

  • Experience with modern business intelligence and analytics platforms.
  • \n

  • Prior experience supporting cloud data platform migrations.
  • \n

  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments.
  • \n
