Job DescriptionC.H. Thompson is currently seeking a skilled Quality Control Technician to support and strengthen our Quality Department. This role is approximately 75% hands-on, production floor work and 25% computer-based/desk work. The position works closely with production, inspection, and management teams to ensure compliance with customer specifications, drive corrective actions, and improve process control. Responsibilities include hands-on inspection and troubleshooting, as well as documentation (CARC logs, FAIs), customer communication, and technical quality support.About Us: C.H. We are also proud to be ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D and NADCAP certified!Position OverviewResponsibilities May Include:Quality Documentation, CARC & Corrective ActionsComplete CARC Logs, FAI documentation, and related quality recordsLead and/or support corrective action processes, including issue identification, root cause analysis, and implementation trackingEnsure all documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with customer and internal requirementsCross-check job requirements, specifications, and internal processes to ensure full complianceInspection & Hands-On Quality SupportPerform first piece, in-process, and final inspections of parts and materialsAssist with first-piece masking verification and set up validationUse measurement tools (calipers, gauges, micrometers, rulers, etc.) to verify conformanceTechnical Review & Problem SolvingRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and customer specificationsIdentify non-conformances, investigate root causes, and drive corrective actions through completionTroubleshoot coating, masking, and finishing issues in collaboration with production teamsCommunication & Customer SupportCommunicate inspection findings and quality concerns with production teams in real timeProvide clarification on masking requirements and specification interpretation when neededSupport customer communication regarding quality concerns, technical requirements, and compliance questionsProcess Improvement & R&D SupportAssist with testing and evaluation of coating or paint-related issuesSupport development and refinement of quality procedures and controlsHelp identify opportunities for improvement in inspection methods and production processesTeam Support & FlexibilityJump in to assist inspectors and production staff during high workload or bottlenecksCollaborate closely with management on daily priorities and workload balancing Qualifications:Experience with first article inspection, spec interpretation/compliance, and former QC background preferred Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical specificationsExperience using measurement and inspection tools (calipers, gauges, etc.)Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionallyComfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAbility to stand for extended periods and work hands-on in production areasStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skillsShift Hours:Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 3:30pm, Friday 6:30am-12:30pmTotal Compensation Package: Wage$20.00 - $23.00 per hour.
